The NYCTaper protection of the 2024 Deep within the Valley competition continues with Jeffrey Alexander & The Heavy Lidders!
Jeffrey Alexander & The Heavy Lidders grew to become the primary group to play on the competition twice, having appeared in 12 months one. For this set, the core 4 have been joined by Wednesday Knudsen (sax) and Ron Schneiderman (guitar), and John Moloney (percussion) recent off their set with Sunburned Hand of The Man. The septet configuration of the Lidders gave us a one-song set. One 45-minute model of the basic psychedelic thoughts fuck, “Darkish Star.”
Phil Lesh as soon as mentioned, “Darkish Star is all the time enjoying someplace. All we do is faucet into it.” On this present day, Darkish Star was being performed in a discipline close to an apple Orchard in Crimson Hook NY and the Lidders completely tapped into it. Rumor has it, upon playback, one member of the band had a full psychedelic expertise full with partitions transferring. Stay, it hit me so exhausting I used to be compelled again to my tenting chair to recalibrate for about ten minutes. Your mileage could differ.
This was recorded from stage lip with my MBHOs and great soundboard feed from FOH engineer Daniel Stout. The standard is superb. Get your thoughts proper and blast off!
