Canzetta Maria “Candi” Staton (/ˈsteɪtən/) (born March 13, 1940 in Hanceville, Alabama) is an American soul and gospel singer, greatest recognized in the USA for her 1970 remake of Tammy Wynette’s “Stand By Your Man” and her 1976 disco chart-topper “Younger Hearts Run Free”. In Europe, her greatest promoting report is the anthemic “You Obtained the Love” from 1986 launched in collaboration with the Supply. Staton was inducted into the Christian Music Corridor of Fame.
Early years

Staton appeared on the September 23, 1972 version (Season 2, Episode 1) of Soul Prepare. In 1976, Staton started collaborating with producer David Crawford on disco songs corresponding to “Younger Hearts Run Free”, which reached #1 on the US R&B charts, #2 within the UK Singles Chart and went High 20 on the Pop Scorching 100 throughout the summer season of 1976.
