In a current interview with Nikki Blakk of San Francisco’s 107.7 The Bone, Static-X bassist Tony Campos opened up in regards to the band’s future, emphasizing that their continuation relies upon closely on fan help.
Static-X‘s present lineup, which incorporates guitarist Koichi Fukuda and drummer Ken Jay, alongside present frontman Xer0, is on tour for his or her newest album Undertaking Regeneration: Vol. 2. Launched in January, the report options the final vocal performances from founding vocalist Wayne Static.
When requested whether or not the band will proceed past the present tour cycle, Campos defined: “That is what it began as, and it simply saved snowballing and rising. And it is the place it’s now as a result of followers hold popping out. And I feel I’ve stated it beforehand — if I have not, I will say it now — so long as we’re having enjoyable doing this and the followers hold wanting us to do it, we’ll do it.”
When requested if the band has seen a rising fanbase since their 2019 comeback, Campos shared that the group has attracted a youthful crowd, noting how longtime followers are actually bringing their kids to reveals: “We have seen plenty of youthful folks. The followers that grew up with us again in ’99 and early 2000s, they’re all adults and have youngsters, they usually’re bringing their youngsters to the reveals. And, yeah, it is nice to see that, a brand new technology of evil disco heads getting slightly repair.”
On the subject of latest music, Campos was unsure about future plans. He talked about the altering panorama of the music business, saying, “I do not know if we’ll be doing full-length albums. Who buys albums now? [Laughs] I feel possibly if we do write any new music, possibly it will be a single. However I do not know. I am simply residing within the now and having fun with the now. And when the longer term comes, I will cross that bridge and we’ll take care of it.”
