Ernest Greene, who performs as Washed Out, says his newest album was impressed by transferring again to the place he grew up in Georgia.

“I grew up on this very rural setting,” he says. “Plenty of nature to discover, and I used to be lacking that in a whole lot of methods. I really like the concept of my children experiencing the same factor.”

The album is named Notes from a Quiet Life, and it’s clearly one thing Inexperienced is embracing. After his 2020 album, Purple Midday, Inexperienced left Atlanta to construct a house studio in a barn not too removed from the place he grew up in rural Georgia.

Uninterested in the music trade grind, he deliberately took his time engaged on new music. On this session, Inexperienced talks about making an album on his personal time and taking inspiration from visible artists like Cy Twombly and Henry Moore. Plus, he talks concerning the sudden response to a unique kind of visible artwork: his AI-generated music video for “The Hardest Half.”
