Whereas Vice President Harris is trying to change her title to President, she’s already been named an icon by Ebony.
The journal is honoring the Democrat at its annual Energy 100 awards to be held Nov. 17, naming her Icon of the Yr.
“Because the daughter of oldsters who had been lively in the course of the Civil Rights Motion, I’ve lengthy been impressed by heroes like Thurgood Marshall – the identical heroes who’ve graced the pages of Ebony – I’m each honored and humbled to be acknowledged because the 2024 Ebony Icon of the Yr,” Vice President Kamala Harris stated in a press release.
Usher was named the World Visionary of the Yr; he joins honorees together with Cynthia Erivo, whose Depraved debuts later this month and is behind honored with the Pathbreaker of the 12 months; and Oscar-winner Da’Vine Pleasure Randolph, who can be given a Folks’s Alternative Award. Civil rights scholar Kimberlé Crenshaw will obtain the Humanitarian of the Yr.
