King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard‘s newest album, Flight b741, is a love letter to basic nation rock.
The band tried one thing completely different, with everybody taking activate vocals and constructing off one another’s lyrics. Frontman Stu Mackenzie says the method was extra instinctual.
“There have been data the place somebody has introduced in an concept and mentioned ‘Will the bass participant please play this?’ or ‘With the drums, I used to be considering this type of beat?’ However this wasn’t like that. This was like, you had been allowed to herald a serviette sketch and it may consist of some chord progressions.”
On this session, Mackenzie shares particulars on the Gizz’s forthcoming album, Phantom Island. He says the file began as a result of the band had been approached by an orchestra to play some reveals, to Stu’s shock.
