Chimaira is celebrating 25 years of their debut EP This Current Darkness with an entire slew of goodies. Chimaira has posted some behind-the-scenes footage of the recording course of (in all its VHS-looking glory) alongside a whopping 10 reside reveals from the following tour across the EP’s launch.
“25 years in the past, This Current Darkness was launched—a declaration of who we have been, crafted in simply 4 days with $1,500 and unrelenting drive,” wrote Chimaira of the EP and reveals. “Greater than an EP, it is a testomony to the grind, ardour, and brutal power that also drives us at this time.
“To have a good time, we have opened the vault, sharing uncooked, unedited reside performances from the 12 months 2000—a gritty and sincere glimpse into the chaos and willpower of these early days. Thanks for being part of our journey and commemorating this milestone with us.”
This Current Darkness featured the lineup of vocalist Mark Hunter, guitarists Rob Arnold and Jason Hager, drummer Andols Herrick, and each bassists Rob Lesniak and Andrew Ermlick.
