Depend on Me” is a 1978 tune and single by Jefferson Starship written by Jesse Barish for the album Earth. The one, in lighter rock mode, gave Starship one other US Prime 10 hit after “Miracles“.

Jefferson Starship is an American rock band from San Francisco, California, in 1974 by a bunch of musicians together with former members of Jefferson Airplane. Between 1974 and 1984, they launched eight gold or platinum-selling studio albums, and one gold-selling compilation.was fashioned by former Jefferson Airplane members Kantner and Grace Slick, and developed from a number of solo albums that they had recorded.

They had been joined by David Freiberg, Craig Chaquico, John Barbata, Pete Sears, and Papa John Creach. Former Airplane frontman Marty Balin subsequently joined the group in 1975, and the next 12 months’s album Spitfire was a prime 5 hit.

Slick and Balin each left the group in 1978, leaving the remaining members to recruit Mickey Thomas as their substitute. In 1981 Slick rejoined the group, which continued with minor chart success. Kantner give up in 1984 and took authorized motion in the direction of utilizing the title; the remaining members grew to become Starship. Kantner reformed the group as Jefferson Starship:
